I assure you that I later applied for countless dev roles, heard from a fraction, got a few, and never heard anything from the others. There’s no system or rational process that sits behind hiring. My parents helped me extensively with paying for school. I was often more broke than some of my peers; my parents expected me to work and contribute, and I was not allowed to take loans.
