I wrote the words above when I realized If you rub my Beard I will rub your butt shirt, not an adult. She is learning daily how to navigate life. She always offers me forgiveness when I mess up, why shouldn’t I do the same for her? Because mistakes mean we’re learning, growing, taking risks, and showing up. The day we stop making mistakes is the day we stop living. Today let’s live bravely, boldly, flawed, and full of hope. I know I will echo a lot of people in these comments, but I really needed to read this today. You cannot post this one enough. Such a needed reminder, and so eloquently written. Oh, how I love this.

Best If you rub my Beard I will rub your butt shirt
This is living authentically, If you rub my Beard I will rub your butt shirt. Not perfection, just progress as we journey along this life. You cannot post this one enough. Such a needed reminder, and so eloquently written. Also needed this today – been beating myself up all morning for how grumpy I was with my children last night and this morning. Feel like I should just tape my mouth shut most days. Your perspectives on life, on relationships, and on little people are so lovely, Rachel. Thank you for inviting me to view the world through your lens of compassion and love. Needed to see this today. I always say that everyone learns from their mistakes but when a mistake happens, I don’t always act as I should. I guess that’s a mistake I need to learn from.
