Generally speaking, I don’t condone lying in a Weed and dogs make me feel less murdery shirt. I understand my answer will be polarizing for many. And perhaps some of you will even see it as immoral. However, I find the question to be unethical in the first place, which is why states are moving to ban it from being asked. I have read some other answers in this forum which state you shouldn’t lie. Perhaps I am being preemptive as I envision some of you may question my ethics as an HR manager. I would ask these people to reflect on their own actions though as I don’t doubt that many of these people have fudged their LinkedIn profiles or exaggerated their resumes. Each of which is a terminable action in itself.

Whatever you earned at a Weed and dogs make me feel less murdery shirt, the government, and your accountant. I can tell you from direct experience that your current salary will be used by a potential employer to lowball you. They also forgot how difficult it was to recruit this person in the first place. Needless to say, their offer really threw a spanner into the works. The candidate was not happy and requested to work remotely to keep costs down. The company agreed, however, it made training difficult and the employee decided to quit after just two months. All that hard work recruiting was wasted because of a stupid short-sighted decision to lowball the candidate.
